Anyang, Sep. 5, 2016 - LS Cable & System said that its power cable production subsidiary in Vietnam, LS-VINA, received the ‘First-grade Labor Medal’ from the Vietnamese government in recognition of its contribution to continuous economic development.
 
This award is given to companies which have maintained transparency of management for more than 5 years, and set an example in labor-management relations, tax payment and social contribution activities. LS-VINA received the third-grade labor medal in 2005, and the second-grade labor medal in 2011. The screening process is known to be so strict that it takes at least 15 years to receive the first-grade labor medal.  
 
“LS-VINA introduced a sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and complies with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Thus, the company secured efficiency of management and transparency of accounting,” said In-Jae Baek, CEO of LS-VINA. “Also, there has been no labor dispute in the past 20 years, and the labor-management relationship is so good that an increasing number of other Korean companies in Vietnam are benchmarking LS-VINA.”
 
Le Thanh Son, Vice-Chairman of the People’s Committee of Haiphong, Vietnam, said, “LS Cable & System Asia is the largest cable exporter in Vietnam, and a representative example of successful foreign-invested companies, and it is a workplace most favored by Vietnamese youth.”
 
LS Cable & System established LS-VINA in Haiphong in 1996 when it first entered Vietnam and then established LSCV in Hanoi in 2007. LS Cable & System Asia, the holding company of LS-VINA and LSCV, is scheduled to be listed on the Korean stock market on September 22. Combined sales of the two units reached about KRW500 billion last year, firmly establishing the enterprise as the No. 1 cablemaker in Vietnam.
