President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung of LS C&S said, “Donghae is the cradle of our submarine and extra-high voltage cables, which are the core products of LS C&S’s global business.” He continued, “As a local company, we decided to donate the scholarship funds for joint development with the community.”

To date, LS C&S has been investing more than 400 billion won in Donghae City by building a submarine cable plant in 2008, and begun construction of a second plant this month. The company stands that it will develop the Donghae Site as its outpost in Gangwon-do, which is the center of cooperation with the northern economic zone and inter-Korean economic cooperation. 

LS C& S has been consistently making efforts to the local community through talent-development donations by employees, and directly fostering of future talents. The company’s participation in a job training program sponsored by the MOU and Gangwon University, which provides job training that awards additional points for recruiting purposes, and the ‘LS Dream Science Class’ for elementary school students are typical examples.

Furthermore, the company contributes to social safety projects through which, for example, employees volunteer to visit nearby traditional markets to carry out electrical safety checkups.
